Bright red Poinsettias are some of my favorite flowers at Christmas time! This exquisite sampler celebrates the bountiful bright red Poinsettias that I’m used to seeing when I was younger, and I still love to display in my home during the season. The second of what will be a collection of lovely little samplers focused on cottages and garden flowers, this sampler continues a new series of projects. Stitched with luscious over-dyed silks flosses, silk ribbon, metallic braid, snow charms and sparkling beads, it is perfectly designed for learning! It is not too big, so you can more effectively master how to stitch the few lovely specialty stitches like Scotch Stitch, Double Running, Arrowhead, Algerian Eyelets, Rice stitch, Couching and French Knots; some simple Drawn Thread; and even poinsettias of Silk Ribbon work. Cross Stitched areas at the top and bottom depict a basket of Poinsettia flowers picked from the garden surrounding the little yellow cottage. Follow our clear and simple diagrams included in this leaflet and enjoy the journey to Poinsettia Place! Sorting The Threads in your Accessory Pack: Remember to sort in daylight near a window, not under artificial light indoors, as the colours change with the colour of the lightbulbs we use. Each floss has a different number of strands in each thread length. This helps you differentiate the different colours in your pack. Needlepoint Inc. silk floss has 8 strands per length The Kreinik Mori has 6 strands per length The Gloriana Overdyed Silk has 12 thin strands per length. Dinky Dyes has 6 strands per length. FYI: We noticed that some colours have been divided into two lengths. This can happen if a colour requires 1.5 yards. Our kitmaker might include one 1 yard length and one 0.5 yard length, so don't get confused if one colour has more than one length of thread. We hope this extra information will help you sort your threads more easily!
